MBA with a Coordinated Program in Dietetics

MBA/RD

Become a registered dietitian nutritionist with the added business perspective and skills to take on leadership roles in dietetics, food science, healthcare and other nutrition-related industries.

Dominican University's MBA/RD program is one of a kind in the United States, and as a result, we draw students from around the country who are interested in broadening their career options with a unique skill set.   If you have completed your undergraduate coursework in nutrition, you can combine your coordinated program in dietetics with an MBA from our Brennan School of Business. 

 

The MBA Program

The Coordinated Program in Dietetics

The coordinated program in dietetics from Dominican University is accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The dietetics program fulfills Supervised Practice requirements to sit for the Examination for Registered Dietitian administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. The Supervised Practice has a business emphasis, with 1,200 hours of experience divided between community, clinical and food management.

Admission Requirements:

  • Application for Admission
  • Non-refundable application fee of $25
  • Personal statement explaining your personal and professional goals
  • Official GMAT or GRE score (Dominican University institution code for the GMAT and GRE is 6297)
  • Official transcripts from all universities. Upon completion of your bachelor's degree, the submission of your final transcript with the degree conferred is required.
  • Two references from the applicant's professors and/or supervisors
  • Current resume
  • All applicants must have ACEND-Accredited Didactic Program in Nutrition and Dietetics (DPD) coursework completed, or have a maximum of three courses remaining, prior to matriculation in the fall semester. 
  • Students are not required to have completed any business coursework in their undergraduate program to be admitted to the MBA-RD program.

Deadlines

First Round Acceptance in April:

Students who are not selected for early acceptance, or those who missed the early acceptance deadline (Wednesday, January 18, 2017) may apply to the first round admission review. The deadline to be considered is Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Dependent upon the group of applicants, there may be successive review rounds in following months.
