Undergraduate Programs

The Brennan School of Business offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in six undergraduate majors, including accounting, economics, finance, international business, management, and marketing. Brennan also offers a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in economics and international business for students interested in an interdisciplinary study or double major. Additionally, students may elect to pursue a minor in one of the business degrees offered by Brennan.

Undergraduate Majors and Minors

ACCOUNTING. Accounting, the study of financial information, provides the framework for how an organization quantifies and evaluates business decisions. The undergraduate program in accounting prepares students to pursue careers in auditing, taxation, consulting, and management accounting.

ECONOMICS. Economics, the study of how individuals, businesses, governments, and nations allocate scarce resources, is a powerful tool for understanding how decisions are made. The undergraduate program in economics prepares students to understand the foundations and problem-solving strategies employed in business, social sciences, and related fields. Dominican University offers two undergraduate programs in economics:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree through the Brennan School of Business
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree for students interested in interdisciplinary study or a double major.

FINANCE. The Brennan School of Business BBA in finance degree program equips students with skills in risk management and strategic decision making to prepare for careers in financial management, banking, stock brokerage, and more.

INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS. The undergraduate degree in international business prepares students to excel in an increasingly global environment by teaching the business and communication skills that are critical to conduct business in international and emerging markets. Dominican University offers two undergraduate programs in international business:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree through the Brennan School of Business
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree for students interested in interdisciplinary study or a double major.

MANAGEMENT. The Brennan School of Business BBA in management degree program prepares students with the foundation for effective and ethical leadership. Students will cultivate the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a management position.

MARKETING. Marketing is a driver of growth in a complex marketplace. Students who pursue a BBA in marketing will build skills in innovative thinking and strategic problem solving and learn how to apply customer insights to deliver a competitive advantage that sustains growth.

Business Practicums

Brennan students have the opportunity to combine academics with real-world experience with a curriculum designed to build creativity and problem-solving skills. Required business practicums include:

  • MGMT 497 Business Capstone

Career Development

Brennan’s career development program prepares students for lifelong career management with guidance and training. Students will take one credit hour per year of intensive career development instruction, including:

  • Interviewing
  • Career-related topics
