I strongly believe that my responsibility as a teacher is to develop critical thinking and problem-solving strategies in students, which will help them in achieving their own life goals."
Wenlian Gao earned her PhD in Finance from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She also holds a MS from Qinghua University and a BS in Economics from Peking University in China. Dr. Gao started her teaching career in 2007 as an Assistant Professor of Finance at Dominican University. She then worked as a visiting Assistant Professor at Marquette University and an Associate Professor at the Central University of Finance and Economics. She has taught a variety of finance courses, including Financial Management, Financial Decision Making, International Finance, Financial Markets and Institutions, and Corporate Governance in both graduate and undergraduate programs. Dr. Gao has published articles in leading finance journals such as the Journal of Corporate Finance, Financial Management, and Pacific Basin Finance Journal. Her research covers a range of topics in international finance and corporate finance with an emphasis on international markets, corporate diversification, corporate innovation and capital structure.
