Monday, July 6, marked the end of an era as CME announced that the trading pits at the Chicago Board of Trade will close after 167 years. Professor Peter Alonzi discussed the closing on the WMAQ NBC 5 evening news and in the PBS Newshour blog "The Rundown."
Alonzi is the former senior manager of the Chicago Board of Trade's educational programs group. "This is not something that happened over night; it's been happening for a long time," Alonzi told PBS Newshour. You can read the entire piece about the closing at the PBS NewsHour website.
